Why don’t elephants use computers? Because they’re afraid of the mouse!
This technological dilemma has been puzzling scientists at the Savanna Institute of Technology for years. Dr. Peanut Trunk, lead researcher, explains: “We’ve tried everything – wireless mice, trackpads, even voice commands. But the moment an elephant sees that tiny cursor moving across the screen, they trumpet in terror and accidentally step on the keyboard.”
The institute’s latest attempt involved creating elephant-sized computers with banana-shaped mice, but the test subjects kept trying to eat the hardware. “Turns out, making computer accessories fruit-shaped wasn’t our brightest idea,” admitted Dr. Trunk.
One particularly tech-savvy elephant named Byte has made progress by using his trunk as a stylus on tablet computers, though he keeps accidentally opening 47 browser tabs while trying to play solitaire. The research continues, but for now, elephants will have to stick to their day jobs of being magnificently large and having excellent memories – which, ironically, would make them fantastic at remembering passwords if only they could get past that pesky mouse problem.
