Attorney Janet Briefs announced this week that she’s launching a groundbreaking new legal practice exclusively dedicated to cases involving broken pencils. When asked about her unusual specialty, Briefs explained, ‘I realized there was a real gap in the market. People always say there’s no point in pursuing these cases, but I disagree!’
The law office, aptly named ‘Sharp & Associates,’ promises to handle everything from manufacturing defects to workplace pencil injuries. ‘We take a very pointed approach to each case,’ Briefs noted with a smile. ‘Our clients never feel like they’re getting the shaft.’
Local stationery store owner Mike Graphite expressed skepticism about the venture. ‘I’ve seen a lot of broken pencils in my day, but I never thought they needed their own lawyer,’ he said, shaking his head.
Briefs remains optimistic about her prospects, though she admits the work can be challenging. ‘Some days I feel like I’m just going around in circles,’ she confessed. ‘But when justice is served, it’s always write on target!’
The practice officially opens next Monday, right next to the local art supply store.
