The incident unfolded when a suspect fleeing from authorities made the questionable life choice of plowing into our sandwich-bearing hero mid-delivery. Most people, upon being struck by a moving vehicle, would reasonably consider their workday concluded. Perhaps call a doctor. Maybe lie down. Definitely not complete the delivery.
This driver, however, had other priorities — specifically, someone’s lunch.
After being struck by the fleeing vehicle, the driver reportedly dusted themselves off and finished delivering the sandwich to its intended recipient. When asked about his remarkable display of dedication, the driver offered what might be the most understated explanation in the history of employment: ‘I was just doing my job.’
The unnamed customer, blissfully unaware of the vehicular drama that preceded their meal’s arrival, presumably received their sandwich without any idea that it had survived a literal crime scene.
